New Mentee Joins the Team – 8th January 2024
Fairport has been a family run business since 1982 and it is with pride that we introduce our newest member to the team, James Porter. James is the youngest brother of Fairport Director David, and having just graduated from University in Sheffield, is excited to work in a city that has become home to him.
James will be training in our factory, before starting as sales representative covering the North and Scotland later in 2024.
Supporting the Re-build of Ukraine – 24th August 2023
Fairport are honored and proud to support the rebuilding of Ukrainian infrastructure. The ongoing war has seen huge destruction. However amidst this a new project plan “The Worlds Largest Construction Site – Rebuild Ukraine”, reported in the New York Times, was started in the mid 2023. It will involve many organisations and companies combining efforts to support the postwar recovery.
Techno Vector based in Ukraine approached Fairport with the hope of us supplying a range of construction equipment, which was achieved this month. Amongst the order were Reversible Plate Compactors, Ultravibe+ Hand Held Pokers, Single Rollers and Rammers.
Fairport Construction look forward to providing required equipment with this ongoing order.
Introducing Fairport’s new and improved FP Series Compaction Plate – 5th July 2023
The new FP Series will replace the existing F & FL Range of Plates, with its faster travel speed, lower HAV’s and deeper compaction. The cast iron base ensures an even finish with no lines, and with an optional wheel kit, it travels around site jobs very well. It is available in three sizes and comes with paving and water kits too.
Fairport Director/Designer Ian Morris said, “This single direction plate range has been designed not only to improve performance, but also to increase productivity, which it absolutely does”.
This was echoed by Fairport Head of Business Development, Steve Watkinson, “The overall efficiency of the FP series is much better; it runs for longer, has lower HAVs, travels well and the end result is not only faster, but smoother. It is, in my opinion the best plate on the market.”

Charity 127 mile Liverpool to Leeds Canal Bike Ride – 24th June 2023
Fairport Construction’s very own David Porter (MD) joined Andrew Porter (Dad) and the cycle team from Fairport Containers to complete this monumental task to raise much needed funds for North West Cancer Research.
All money raise help to support ground breaking research and outreach educational programmes.
They totally smashed their target of £10k, hitting a final figure of £11,349.88 – well done team.
